Application of ZedHip for Preoperative Planning in Total Hip Arthroplasty

Objective

In total hip arthroplasty (THA), simulate implant size and cup placement angle preoperatively to improve surgical precision.

Subjects

• Cases: 15 cases, 15 joints
• Sex: 4 male, 11 female
• Age: Mean 68.2 years (52–81 years)

Evaluation Items

• Cup placement angle (anteversion, abduction)
• Stem size and placement position
• Discrepancy between the preoperative plan and intraoperative measurements

Results

The discrepancy between the preoperative plan and intraoperative measurements fell within an acceptable range, also contributing to reduced surgical time.

Discussion

3D preoperative planning facilitated plan sharing among surgeons and was suggested to be useful for training young surgeons.
